Sell with presale before you publish
Offer a pack of photos before the event: buyers reserve it with their card, choose their favorites when you publish and pay only then.
In short
Presale lets you sell a pack of photos (for example, 3 photos for $30) before the album is online. Buyers reserve it with their card and nothing is charged. When you publish the album, everyone who reserved gets an email, chooses their favorite photos and pays only then.
Buyers who cancel cost you nothing: no card was charged, so there are no refunds or fees to cover.
Turn it on
- Create your album. You do not need photos yet, but the album must stay unpublished.
- Open the album and press Set up presale in the banner at the top, or Presale in the album actions.
- Set how many photos the pack includes and its price, and press Turn on presale. The page shows how much buyers save compared with buying the photos one by one.
- Copy the reservation link and share it: on your social networks, with the race organizers, in your athletes' groups.
Presale is available when:
- Your payments go through Stripe (not dLocal Go).
- The album is public: it is not a private album, has no password and is not selfie-only.
Follow your reservations
The album's Presale page shows who reserved, their status, how much you could earn if everyone buys and how much you have sold. Albums taking reservations show a Presale badge in your album list, and you get a notification for each new reservation.
When you publish
Publish the album as usual. Before you do, the publish dialog tells you how many people are waiting. Everyone who reserved receives an email right away and has 14 days to choose their photos.
New reservations close when you publish.
What you earn
- The commission and fees are the same as any other sale. See Commissions and fees.
- The money arrives when the buyer chooses their photos and the card is charged, not when they reserve. The sale then shows in your sales like any other.
- The price of the pack is locked when the buyer reserves. If you change it later, existing reservations keep the price they reserved at.
Good to know
- Turning presale off stops new reservations. People who already reserved can still choose their photos.
- If you do not publish the album within 60 days, the reservations expire and nobody is charged.
- If the album ends up with fewer photos than the pack, buyers take all of them and pay proportionally less.
