We dropped the commission for free accounts

We lowered the free plan commission from 17% to 16% — more margin on every photo sold, with nothing to do on your side.

The free plan now charges 16% commission on every sale, down from 17%. It applies automatically starting with your next payout — nothing to switch on.

That's one extra percentage point in your pocket on every photo sold, all year round, no contracts and no minimums. If you sell regularly from a free account, that extra margin adds up fast.

Events page redesigned

Your event gets discovered faster: cleaner cards, simpler filters, and a sticky toolbar on mobile.

We redesigned the public events page so your athletes can spot your race among thousands. More compact cards with a readable date, a clear location, and a representative photo when one exists — they scan more events per scroll and recognize yours before they give up.

The country and state filter has been merged into a single combobox with text search. If an athlete from another country is hunting for your event, they type "Mex", "Chile", "Esp" and the matching options pop up — no more wrestling with two chained selects or an endless scroll of flags.

On mobile the filter toolbar stays anchored at the top while they scroll, so they don't lose the filter while exploring cards. In practice: less drop-off and more athletes who actually make it to your album.

Profile redesigned

The public profile gets a new design built to show your work like a personal site.

Your public profile gets a new design built to showcase your work. A wide cover photo, your best albums up front, contact info, and links to your socials — a clean layout that feels more personal site than platform page. Combined with folders, it works as a portfolio you can send straight to a potential client.

Even clearer fees + new help center

Every place fees show up now displays them in full, including what Stripe charges. We also opened a help center with worked examples.

We made another pass over every spot where a fee shows up — pricing, estimated payout, sales panel, plan settings — and made sure the number you see is the full one. It now explicitly includes what the payment processor (Stripe) charges on top of ZebraSnap's commission, so you can work out your margin without surprises.

We also opened a help center with worked examples, breakdowns of how each charge is split, and country-specific notes. It's where we'll keep adding the practical info that today only support knows: tables, use cases, frequent questions. If you've ever wondered "but exactly how much do I get?", the answer lives there.

Heads-up when the cart mixes photographers

If an athlete bundles photos from different photographers, we now warn them before checkout so there are no download surprises.

Your athletes grab every photo of themselves with one tap

From the event view, athletes can add every photo they appear in across multiple albums — including yours.

The public event page now treats every linked album as a single experience. When an athlete searches by selfie or by bib number, they see every match across albums and can add them all to the cart with a single "add all" button — no jumping from album to album.

If you have an active promo on the event, it shows up at the top of the same page right when they're about to buy. Less friction for them, more sales for you.

Password-protect any album

Lock galleries with a password so only the right athletes see their photos.

You can now lock any album with a password and share it with the athletes who should see the photos. The gallery still lives at a public URL, but previews show up blurred and no one can search, view, or buy until they unlock it.

It's perfect for private events, corporate sessions, and pre-launch campaigns where you want to control who walks in. You manage the password from the album panel and can change it anytime — athletes who already entered keep their session, and the new password only applies to anyone trying to get in afterwards.

Language and theme picker in the mobile menu

Switching language or toggling light/dark now lives in the main mobile menu, not in settings.

New website is live

We rebuilt the home, the blog, and the rest of the site on a single platform — with full dark mode throughout.

After months of work, ZebraSnap has a new website. The new home puts search front and center — two big buttons so your athletes find their photos by selfie or by event without having to navigate. The blog moved over too, with a clean reader and related posts at the end.

The whole site honors automatic dark mode and runs on a unified design system, so every new page feels coherent with the rest of ZebraSnap.

New

Folders to organize your albums

Group your albums into folders and show them as curated sections on your public profile.

You can now group your albums into folders — by season, sport, client, whatever makes sense to you. Create and manage them from "My albums", picking which albums belong to each.

The good part: folders also surface as organized sections on your public profile, so visitors see your work curated by you, not by chronological order.

New

Creating an album is simpler now

We redesigned the album creation form with fewer clicks, clearer hierarchy, and a preview of the result.

We redesigned the album creation form with a shorter, more guided flow. Fields are ordered by what matters most, the preview shows you how the album will look before you publish, and we cut down the clicks needed to push it live.

Improved

Download protection on public albums

We block right-click, drag, and add an overlay over previews so no one walks off with your work without paying.

We added a few layers to protect your photos in public albums: right-click blocked, dragging disabled, and an overlay over previews so they can't be captured cleanly. The legitimate buyer still gets zoom, large preview, and high-quality download once they've paid.

Improved

Pick how photos are sorted in each album

By capture time, by file name, or in custom order — you decide how your photos appear to the athlete.

Each album has its own sort setting. You can sort by capture date (the natural order for a race), by file name (handy when shots come from multiple numbered cameras), or set a manual order.

The setting is saved per album, so different events can use different sorts without you ever revisiting them.

Improved

Album and event pages redesigned

Inline filters, faster previews, and a better mobile flow — all inside the same page.

Album and event pages get a fresh look. Filters (by bib number, by face, by event section) no longer open a separate panel: they live inside the page and apply on the spot. The photo preview is faster too, with quicker zoom and better touch handling on mobile.

Less friction for the athlete to find themselves; fewer clicks for you between viewing and buying.

Improved

Dark mode in the mobile app

iOS and Android now follow the system theme, or whichever you pick inside the app.

The mobile app now ships with full dark mode. It follows the system by default, but you can force light or dark from settings.

We went through every screen — onboarding, dashboard, albums, photos, sales, profile, settings — to make sure no place is left with hard-to-read text or icons that don't contrast in dark.

New

zsn.app short links for easier sharing

Every album and every profile has its own short URL, ready for WhatsApp, Instagram, or a printed flyer.

Sharing albums on social and messaging gets cleaner: every album and every profile now has a short link on zsn.app that redirects automatically to the full gallery.

Use the album or profile share button to grab them; the iOS and Android apps already use these short links when you send photos through WhatsApp or Instagram. Cleaner on the eye, easier to print on a flyer or read out loud.

New

New Analytics Pro dashboard

Real numbers on your business: sales, traffic, conversion, and sources — on web and inside the mobile app.

Meet Analytics Pro: a dashboard with orders, photos sold, gross and net revenue, fees, average order value, and repeat buyers — broken down by currency and period. Unique visits, conversion, and sources (referrers, social, search) per album, plus the top albums and buyers so you spot what's working at a glance.

Available from the dashboard on web and inside the mobile app, with a compact view to check on the go.

New

iOS and Android apps are live

The official ZebraSnap apps for iPhone and Android — sales, albums, and uploads from your pocket.

The official ZebraSnap mobile apps for iOS and Android are here. Get sales notifications the moment they happen, check on your albums and metrics in passing, upload photos straight from the camera roll, and share short links over WhatsApp with one tap.

The app updates over the air, so improvements reach you without a trip to the store.

Improved

Announcements inbox in settings

Important announcements we send by email are now archived in an inbox inside settings.

Announcements we send out by email (commission changes, launches, reminders) are now also archived in an inbox inside settings. If you missed an email, you'll find it there — and you can turn off announcement emails without losing access to the history.

New

Desktop app for Mac and Windows

A native app for big batch uploads, with concurrent uploads, automatic resume, and folder watching.

Upload your events without going through the browser. The desktop app for macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows uploads up to six files in parallel, resumes from the last completed part if the connection drops, and can watch a folder to push new photos automatically. It updates itself; downloads and release notes live in the downloads section of the website.

New

Lightroom plugin to publish to ZebraSnap

Export straight from Lightroom Classic to a new or existing album, no browser needed.

The new Lightroom Classic plugin lets you publish to ZebraSnap as just another Publish Service: flag your edited photos, pick the album, and Lightroom uploads them directly. Want to replace a version? Republish and we'll update it for you.

Compatible with Lightroom 5+. Install in a couple of clicks; instructions and the download are in the downloads section of the website.

Improved

Parallel uploads: from 3 to 6 files at once

We doubled concurrent uploads and persist progress per file, so big batches finish faster.

New

ZebraVoice — propose and vote on improvements

A new space where photographers post ideas and vote on the ones they want to see in ZebraSnap first.

We're rolling out ZebraVoice, a place to propose product improvements, vote on other photographers' ideas, and follow what the team is building. Ideas are translated automatically into all eight platform languages, so your voice reaches the whole community no matter where you are.

If there's a request you've been sitting on for months, this is where it has the best shot at moving up the shortlist.

New

Bundle discount when an athlete grabs every match

When an athlete searches by face, they can now add every photo they appear in with an automatic discount applied.

If an athlete searches with a selfie and several of their photos come back, they can now grab every single one with a single button — and the price is adjusted automatically with a full-bundle discount.

We surface the real numbers (how many of their photos there are, across how many albums, the total with and without the discount) before they hit the cart, so the decision feels clear and fair.

Improved

Your own messages on every album

When you create an album, add a public message for visitors and a separate post-purchase one only for buyers.

When you create or edit an album you can leave your own message right next to the photos: explain the event, point to your other coverages, drop a personal note. There's also a post-purchase message that only buyers see — perfect for discount codes, a thank-you, or a link to your Instagram.
